What a weekend

Monday, May 31st, 2004

Okay, so my plan to get recklessly drunk on my birthday went out the window when I finished paying bills and realized every dollar I spent on my birthday would be one less to spend in Orlando this weekend. So instead, I went to see Shrek 2 with some old friends. It was a cute movie and surprisingly gay friendly. Okay, maybe not “friendly” but humorously aware. I guess that’ll happen when your talent includes Rupert Everett, Julie Andrews, Antonio Banderas and Jennifer Saunders (AbFaB).

I spent most of the weekend cleaning out my apartment and working on some of the upcoming chapters in my novel. I’m becoming too much of a hermit, but that’s good every once in a while. You can’t spend every weekend in the bars. I’m also trying to find ways to save money for a new car. My van has definitely seen better days.

My sister Jeannie graduates from high school this week. She’s moving out of my parents home this summer. Wow, that only leaves three of their kids still at home. That means everyone has their own bedroom for the first time, well, ever. I’ve mentioned before that I’m the oldest of nine kids, and we always shared bedrooms growing up. I didn’t get my own private space until I moved away to college and my first roommate in the dorms moved out.

I guess it’s time to catch up on *-*-*_grr_argh_”>and send out some emails.
