Pictures from the Generic Black & White Party

Rod, who I alternate between feeling big brotherly toward and just crushing on; Luanne, the lesbian mother of our office (she has six kids from years of being married); and me.

Best friend #1 (and my fag hag – a term she embraces) Michelle; me; Michelle’s new GF Piper.

Steve, formerly my assistant editor, now taking over my position; Holly, a sweetheart who I bonded with over tales of secrets we keep from our families because they are too painful to share (specifically rape); and me.

Best friends #2, Nick; a long-time friend and the first runner up for fag hag (should the winner be unable to perform her duties…) Dani Kay; and me.

Chris, our GM from Britain; Jarrod, a client and friend; Kelly, owner of the company and surrogate mother; and me.

Eric & Arlene, from Golden Rainbow – one of our local AIDS service organizations – who have been the most delightful people I’ve worked with regularly over the last four years.

Me and my friend Jake with two (now former) Chippendale dancers. Both of them are named Brett, oddly enough, but the guy closest to me is Brett Depue. I think Brett D. is the neatest guy. In addition to being sexy as hell (and straight, dammit) he’s an ex-Mormon with a very similar background to mine and every time we see each other we end up talking for hours about all sorts of things.

I got an award from our local gay pride organization for years of volunteer service and support. They also named me an advisory board member for life (an honorary title primarily, but it means that even if I’m not sitting on the board, I can still comment on motions and debate going on).

Me with Mark & Patrick. Mark has been our main photographer at the magazine for several year until recently when he launched his own magazine, a tourist rag for the Spanish-speaking community. Patrick, his partner, is a member of the MGM-Mirage management team.

Brian, the absolute hottest of my close friends. He’s a bartender at Gipsy, former gymnast and diver, and coaches diving now. He’s been one of those friends who is always there for me even if we don’t get a chance to spend much time together. He’s such an awesome guy, I really don’t understand how he keeps ending up single – except that he keeps falling for shallow, self-involved types who don’t know what commitment means. If only he were interested in me… but he’s not, so we make way better friends.

Well, that’s it for now. Sorry for the shameless picture post.
