Not so ranty post

Tuesday, October 12th, 2004

To get away from the soapbox ranty-ness of my last post, I’ll throw out a few other comments.

I was home in time to watch Seventh Heaven last night. While I’m not exaclty a fan to begin with, last night’s episode was possibly the worst!episode!ever!

Without ever actually naming a candidate or political party, the Camdens talked about voting all episode long. The trick with using Mary’s husband and the one-sided phone calls to mask the fact that the actress is no longer on the show is getting really old. And the final actual scene of the show, in which Ruthie inspires dozens of teenagers to flock around her while she gives an impassioned speech about how the world would be utopian if only children could vote… ARGGGHHH Bad screenwriters! Bad! Go to your rooms!

The moral of the show? Vote. Not because it’s pleasant, or easy, or important, or interesting, but because little children can’t. Also, never tell anyone, even your spouse or immediate family, who you’re voting for. I swear, if any of these news polls had tried to get a read on the presidential election by contacting the Camden household, the polls would show 90% undecided.

Oops. That was supposed to be less ranty. Sorry.

Okay, I’ve been watching the 5 question meme/interview/quiz thingy going around my flist and I haven’t jumped in because I can’t decide who I’d like to have interview me. So I’m stealing this idea, modified a bit, from my buddy Joseph.

Everyone feel free to ask me one or two questions in the comment section and in a day or two, I’ll answer them all to the best of my abilities in a main post. Of course, if anyone would like me to interview them, I’d be much obliged.
