Blind Prophecy

I was talking to a friend today who said “so, I was listening to the radio and I guess these *airquotes* blogs */airquotes* are the next big thing…”

Okay, I know I’m hardly the great and original blogger of all bloggers. In fact, I’m a relative newcomer compared to the masses (1 year – May 12). Still, I was generally aware of the blog phenomenon long before I figured I could do it myself.

Is it true? Are there actually people who are surprised to hear on their local news that millions of people have started keeping online diaries? Are these in-depth exposes about how blogging has changed the internet, journalism, and concepts of privacy really ground-breaking news?

Anyway, I told my friend about LiveJournal and suggested that she friend me if she ever decides to sign up. And when she does, I want her to see this and know, yes, I’m talking about you!

Paycheck in my pocket and I’m wearing good underwear. It sounds like a night to get out of the house. Toodles.
