Stuff.
Tuesday, September 27th, 2005Today was good. I hired the rest of my staff at Bob’s Event today, just have to process some paperwork tomorrow and we’re all set.
We had a board meeting for The Center that felt like a complete waste of time. If people had spent 2 hours writing their reports down instead of reporting orally at the meeting, we wouldn’t have even needed to meet. We didn’t vote on anything and none of the discussion was especially important.
What’s better than tickets to Serenity? FREE tickets to Serenity. Jasmine is watching “Objects in Space” even as we speak after a two-day marathon to see all the episodes before we go to the movie tomorrow night. Since everyone else has drifted in and out of the family room during her marathon, they’re all asking to borrow the DVDs after she’s finished. ::eeeevil laugh:: Muwahahaha – I will convert them all!
I picked up Anansi Boys from the Gateway Barnes and Noble during my lunch break. So far, I haven’t been able to read more than the first chapter because every time I’ve pulled it out (in the mall cafeteria, on the TRAX heading home, etc.) it ends up being a conversation starter and random strangers and I share our love for Neil Gaiman! I’m amazed at how many people are familiar with American Gods but have never read or even heard of Sandman.
Note to all my friends: if you’ve read and enjoyed anything by Gaiman, but haven’t read the Sandman series of graphic novels yet, place this on the top of your reading list. You can usually find it in libraries (you might have to visit a few to get all 10 in the series – read them in order, at least the first time).
Then go see Mirrormask next week.
