X-Mas Shopping
Thursday, November 17th, 2005Dammit! Ethan (Brat Boy Bulletin) pointed out that there are only 40 days left until X-mas.
Officially, my only X-mas gift responsibility family-wise is my brother-in-law Patrick. We draw names for the holidays so that we can focus on getting a few quality gifts rather than 20 crappy ones. Anyway, I was planning to go shopping over my lunch break but when I called Jacki for advice on what he might like, she was stumped. Rather than pointlessly wandering the Gateway, I just read my book (Someplace to be Flying by Charles De Lint. I just finished another of his books, Dreams Underfoot). Next week, however, there will finally be an APPLE STORE in Utah! At the Gateway no less. And this news followed by announcement of an Ikea. It’s like Utah’s suddenly in a hurry to grow up and become a real state.
Anyway, I guess I should worry about the rash of birthdays coming up before I worry about finishing my holiday shopping. Mom, Jacki, Craig, Jared… they all have birthdays in the next few weeks.
I thought Nick had a great post yesterday about what I usually call “cultural Mormonism” over here. Go check it out and tell him how pretty he is.
Harry Potter & the Flaming Fine China post still coming.
