SF Pride Weekend

San Francisco Pride weekend. There was drinking, there was dancing, there was long walks home because I couldn’t find a cab, hot days in the sun, and lots of fun.
The picture to the left shows Lance and Jessica’s sister (Jessica is there, too, but she kept getting blocked out by the blonde) during our Friday night outing to the bars in Castro. This was my most drunken night.
More pics and stuff behind the cut…
Saturday was a bit hung over, but still fun. Ended up spending most of the night at a house party with Lance’s co-workers. At times it was very dull, at times it was fun. There was one really obnoxious guy I couldn’t stand, though, so I eventually said goodbye and moved on to the Pink Party down in the Castro. It was awesome, but I only got there for the tail end of it. Also, I didn’t really need a repeat of watching Lance get drunk and pick up some random guy. So I met a few new people, wandered a bit, then headed home.
Consequently, I was the only one of my friends awake and capable of making it to the Parade. That was fun. I know people say that once you’ve seen a Pride Parade, they’re all the same, but believe me, it’s not true. Especially when 99% of your experience is in planning those parades, running around like crazy to make sure things are going right, etc. It was refreshingly nice to be on the spectator side of a parade for the first time since my trip to Phoenix in 2002!
Once Lance woke up, we met up for some late afternoon breakfast, then headed down to the Festival. It was hot and sunny and full of eye-candy, but we were both feeling pretty fried out by that point, so we walked back to his place (where my laptop was held hostage since Friday) and he started falling asleep the moment we got there, so I said goodbye and headed home.
So, job interview tomorrow. I need to dig through my stuff and find my portfoliio materials. I’m going to try and get up early enough to hit the gym first–I think I’ll feel better if I’ve worked out in the morning (I always walk a little taller right after a workout).
