Recklessness or Reality?

So I quit my job this morning. And, no, I haven’t heard back from the new place yet. I just walked in and got buried in admin/operations work that was definately not part of the job description that they’d handed me way back when and thought, “I’m not going to be happy here. Better to decide that now then wait until I’m completely out of savings and feel trapped.”

So, I did get a message from Out & Equal to call them, which I did, but I got voicemail and will have to play phone tag for a bit this afternoon.

As I suspected, leaving Compass did result in some emotional moments. Especially when my boss told me that she’d just thrown out all the applicant resumes and info on Friday. I wish she hadn’t done that. But, I also think it’s a bit naive to assume after only two weeks that everything with the new employee is perfect and forever. On the plus side, it was payday, so I got my one and only check from them and will replenish my checking account enough to avoid panic feelings for a little while longer.

Oh, well. Fate, I’m in your hands once again.
