Late night wrap

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

Today was long. We had our Summit de-brief in Berkley. It went well, but I always talk too much at these sorts of things and sort of monopolize the conversation without really intending to.
We went to Mezzanine for a concert with Kid Beyond and DJ Krush because it was Jennifer’s birthday. Daniel’s birthday is also [...]

Lies, Propoganda and Deception… a Republican three-course meal

Friday, September 29th, 2006

It’s been a while since I’ve ranted on politics. I guess I’ve been distracted by the move, the new job, a social life, etc. Anyway, with the election just weeks away, I guess they’ve got my attention again.

This movie looks fun. I liked the book. It wasn’t an instant favorite, but it was enjoyable enough. The movie looks like it will do a pretty good job of capturing the book. John Malkovich looks creepy as always.
We’ve passed the autumn solstice and days are getting shorter.
Today was a late day at work. I [...]

Mood

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

I’m in a really bad mood tonight for no good reason. Can’t even describe it, sort of a depressed/angry/irritated/tired/sad funk. I think I need to call home and touch bases with the family.

Gainfully Employed

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

So, O&E offered me a permanent job today. That means benefits, no more temp contract hanging over my head, and their offer was a couple thousand higher than the job I gave up to take the temp contract with them. Yay me!
That was pretty much the big news of the day.
The mini-meet at Gordan Biersch [...]

In Which Our Hero Learns Important Life Lessons and other stuff

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

Okay, class, repeat after me. One does not find a boyfriend by flirting with couples. What the hell is wrong with me?
In other news, I finished The Golden Compass today, and although I was warned about this I didn’t listen. I do, in fact, want to rush down to Borderlands immediately, demand that they open shop [...]

Folsom and Books

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Folsom Street was interesting, but not as wild as Up Your Alley (a.k.a. Dore Alley – which I talked about here). Maybe I’ve been in San Francisco long enough that these things don’t shock me as much, or maybe it was just tamer in general. Or maybe I was tired already from a busy weekend [...]

Love Fest ‘06

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

So while I was in Chicago, my new friends Ronald and Bree and I developed a very simple set up criteria for men. We call it the JARS rule. All that we expect of men anymore is (J) a Job, (A) an automobile (although this one isn’t as strict if you live in places like [...]

Fall TV

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

It seems that every fall I’m faced with a night where there are too many shows I want to watch all taking place on the same night. I fear that Thursdays will be that night this time around. Honestly, if Grey’s Anatomy hadn’t moved into my Smallville/Supernatural routine, we’d be just fine. Risking the wrath [...]
