Fall TV

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

It seems that every fall I’m faced with a night where there are too many shows I want to watch all taking place on the same night. I fear that Thursdays will be that night this time around. Honestly, if Grey’s Anatomy hadn’t moved into my Smallville/Supernatural routine, we’d be just fine. Risking the wrath of  Rob, I’ll admit that I’ve tried watching The Office and I just don’t get it. Even though it’s so predictable now that it ought to be cancelled, I’ll keep watching ER until they do actually cancel it. I’ve invested too many years to let go now, although I’ll probably be flipping the channel to Drawn Together during the second half.

So, it looks like my TV schedule this season may look like this:
Monday: Heroes | Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
Tuesday: Gilmore Girls | tbd | Nip/Tuck (and if N/T isn’t on, Boston Legal)
Wednesday: tbd | Lost or One Tree Hill | South Park
Thursday: Smallville | Supernatural or Grey’s Anatomy | ER or South Park/Drawn Together
Fridays: Battlestar Galactica
Saturdays: bleh!
Sundays: Simpsons/American Dad/Family Guy/whatever | Desperate Housewives

Of course, I’ll probably start missing episodes of shows like Lost and Supernatural fairly early into the season and stop caring. Then something will come up (like Hockey Practice) and I’ll start missing a certain night every week. But at least I know where my TV schedule is starting this fall.

Oh Sundays, it used to be that Charmed, West Wing, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy and more fought for my attention. Now, I almost don’t care if I turn on the telly or not.

Note: the tbd following Gilmore Girls is intentional. I’ve yet to really fall in love with Veronica Mars. I know, I know. I’ve got the DVDs in my netflix queue and I’ll give it a shot, but so far I haven’t been dazzled.
