TGIF!

Wrapped up two big time-consuming projects today. Of course, there will be 3-4 new ones when I get back in the office.

I have the date tomorrow. First actual date I’ve had in a good long time. It sounds pretty intense, too. Dinner plans are at 6, but we’re meeting up at 2 to do some “hanging out” stuff first. That’s a minimum 5 hour commitment to a first date. I feel a little weird about that. Of course, if it’s not going well, we could always call it a day early.

I leave for Washington DC on Monday and I have a lot to do before then. Packing, printing out materials I need to take with me, writing down addresses to all my meeting destinations, moving money into my checking account to cover taxis and hotel incidentals, figuring out which bars are worth visiting in the early week. You get the idea.

My new shoes caused a huge blister on my foot which also broke this afternoon. Whatever else comes of tomorrow’s date, my socks are staying on. ;)

ETA: I’ve been meaning to post something about Mika for a few days now. His debut album comes out in a few weeks and it’s going to be fabulous. I’m already addicted to a few songs. Expect to hear him topping the charts soon…

ETA 2: Sundance starts this weekend. I’m surprisingly bummed not to be there, although my inside reports suggest that the workplace environment at the Institute this year was truly awful – my department was working out of trailers with frequest heating, electical and internet problems. Add that to the usual stress levels plus a commute from SLC to Park City during the winter… yeah, it doesn’t sound like fun.
