Blind Prophecy

I’m not sure how many of my friends have upstart-crow as a friend, but Joselle is Asst. Editor at my old newspaper in Utah. She’s working on an article about queer women who love Harry Potter and has put out a call for help. Since I have a few friends who qualify, I thought I’d pass the message along.

An ex-roommate of mine (formerly dorm RA, then very uncomfortable roomie for a while) appeared on The Shield last night. I looked up his IMDB entry and found out he was in an episode of West Wing. I shot him a message on MySpace and learned that he plays one of Vinick’s (Alan Alda) aides and you only ever see the back of his head, but it’s still super cool to me. I remember John when he was a pasty white slightly geeky guy wearing nothing but a jock strap and trying his best to keep me from pointing his ass at a room full of strangers. I should explain that, but I’ll let you wonder.

There’s a chance I’ll be back in Vegas in about a month. Not guaranteed yet, but chances are good that I’ll be adding another conference to my planned schedule of travel for the year. It’ll be good to have a few days to see some old friends (when I’m not “on the schedule” anyway).

This has been a relatively slow week at work. I know it’s the calm before the storm. There are three super-big projects that need to get moving in June or I’ll be in big trouble come August.
