Conference Notes

Friday, August 31st, 2007

First day of the conference went well. I attended several receptions last night and met some great people. I ran into a pair of guys from Las Vegas whom I only knew professionally for a short time, but had a great time talking about the differences between Vegas and San Francisco and the upcoming Folsom [...]

San Diego First Impressions

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

I arrived in San Diego about two hours ago. I set up our table at the conference, checked in, unpacked, and now I have about four and a half hours to kill. My first impression? San Diego sucks. It’s all sunshine and palm trees and hot muscle boys out jogging on along the beach and [...]

Tucker Carlson Bashed a Man He Thought Was Gay.

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Tucker Carlson is an ass. I won’t even link to it because watching that clip once was enough. Suffice it to say that Tucker and his buddies think that an appropriate (and hi-larious) response to being hit on by a guy in a bathroom is a good old fashioned gay bashing.
“…I went back with someone [...]

The short list

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

The Program Book went to print. Hooray!
I leave for San Diego on Thursday and I am way unprepared for this business trip.

San Diego ought to be fun. It’s my first trip there and I’ll spend some time tomorrow figuring out my itinerary (beyond, of course, the conference that is the reason for my trip).

I’ve seen him sing, in leather, kissing a guy, and now in tights…

Could I love James Marsden more? No I don’t think so. And yet this movie will ask me to believe that McNugget is the sexier, hotter guy for the heroine. That’s like picking Wolverine over Cyclops, or Superman over Richard White, or Link over Corny, or Noah over Lon, or… okay you get the idea. [...]

What? Again?

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Oh, Republicans, could you stop having illegal gay sex? Those of us who limit ourselves to legal and consensual relations are getting a bit tired of it.

Fail

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Heh. As I work through a last day or two of major copy editing, I take comfort in the fact that it’s unlikely any mistake I don’t catch will be as bad as the naming of the iBeat Blaxx MP3 Player.

My friends are going through rough times

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

The last 24+ hours have been a bit difficult. Jennifer moved out of her apartmment and is asking Daniel for a divorce. I’ve known this was coming for a while, but today was the day.

Writer’s Block: Time Travel

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Again, I’m taking advantage of the LJ “Writer’s Block” prompt…
If you could travel back in time to spend a day with someone, who would it be and why?
Wow, so many, many choices. But knowing me, I’d be realistic about it. It wouldn’t be much fun chatting with Camus or Sartre if I didn’t spend a [...]
