Catching up a bit

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

After several days of working late even while sick, I decided that I was leaving at a reasonable hour today. I know I’ll leave on time Friday, but I’ll be back in the office over the weekend and I fly to DC on Monday, so I feel like I should take advantage of an opportunity to rest and recover when I can–even if I have a lot left to do.

We did some silly pirate-talk at the office today and I brought in eye-patches for myself and my cubicle neighbor. At least the new fall season is picking up. I’m bummed that I’ll miss the season openers of Heroes and Ugly Betty while tied up with work duties, but I’ll catch up on them later.

I’m also bummed I worked right through yesterday’s rallies to try and convince the Guvernator to sign the gay marriage bill into law. Of course, Arnie is convinced that a 1999 votes on a referendum still represents the will of the people of California–despite shifting public opinions and no noticable retaliation against the elected representatives of the people who passed this same law two years ago.

ETA: You can urge the governor, as I did, to support equality and sign the legislation by calling him at 916-445-2841 or by sending him an e-mail and select “gender neutral marriage bill” from the drop-down subject box.
