Interesting story I ran across on CALI’s Pre-Law Blog. Apparently, a student is being punished for using hateful anti-gay comments in a professor evaluation. Brian Beck, a landscape architecture major from Gordon, was found in violation of three University [of Georgia] Code of Conduct regulations in a decision announced last week by University Judiciary. Beck was found [...]

Today was my annual review at work. I’m glad it’s over. Despite getting a lot of positive feedback and constructive advice, I was really beating myself up over personal and departmental goals that were not met in 2007. I knew I wasn’t going to meet some of those goals as early in the year as [...]

Impromptu “Thriller” on the London Tubes. And on the 15th anniversary of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, let’s remember the president who has… um… well, he hasn’t done much of anything to change that. From last night’s SOTU ass-licking portion afterwards… the President who thinks men who love other men could undermine troop morale caught in [...]

Despite having a touch of the flu, I finished my taxes today. Yeah, I know, January 28 and I’m done. I’m that guy. But this year’s taxes only involved a single W-2 and the record of how much interest I paid on my student loans… unlike last year’s clusterfuck of self-employment, 4 jobs (technically 5), [...]

I know the ongoing primary squabbling is starting to wear on some people, but let’s remember what it’s all about. There is a light at the end of that tunnel…

I sat in the back of the theatre, which minimized the motion sickness problems, but I didn’t think it was that bad. My one complaint is a spoiler…

Why, Dennis, why? Now I have to realistically decide between Larry, Curly and Moe in California’s Super-Tuesday primary. If they’d all just shut up 3 weeks ago, I’d be okay voting for Obama, but now I think all three are dumbasses. Homer: America, take a good look at your beloved candidates. They’re nothing but hideous [...]

Well, this will be a short review. I’ve already said that Kim Harrison is someone I read for pure escapism, but I’ll admit, she’s growing on me. For a Few Demons More is, in my opinion, her best book to date. It feels like she’s finally going somewhere with the story and I trust that she [...]

I’ve been enjoying this commercial for Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, which has been all over our local broadcasts for the past few weeks.

This is my workspace for the next few days. I’m not nearly as cool as this would imply. I set my new Mac Pro today. The best part is that I was very obviously setting up my expensive new toy while representatives of another computer company were trying to sell other members of my office [...]
