Gimme Back My Money
Monday, January 28th, 2008Despite having a touch of the flu, I finished my taxes today.
Yeah, I know, January 28 and I’m done. I’m that guy. But this year’s taxes only involved a single W-2 and the record of how much interest I paid on my student loans… unlike last year’s clusterfuck of self-employment, 4 jobs (technically 5), itemized business expenses and two states of residency. Also, unlike last year, this year I’m entitled to a refund. That refund will be paying for my LSAT classes, so the sooner it hits my bank account (direct deposit) the better.
Speaking of law school prep, I’m still looking for feedback on my early draft personal statement. I’ve had a few wonderful comments already, but my goal is to get a wide array of input, so if you’re willing to take a look, drop me a note.
I don’t know how it happened, but I completely forgot the State of the Union was tonight. Someone even mentioned the “Democratic response” in conversation today and it didn’t click what they were talking about. So when I get home, finished my taxes, called Mom to ask a few questions, and finally turned on the news, it was all over. I’m not sure I care that I missed it. I’ll read a recap online at some point, I suppose.
