Blind Prophecy

Must try to remember that Cincinnati bars will probably pick up a little after college starts. Otherwise, I was a little underwhelmed last night when I made my first foray into the gay club scene. Basically, the most exciting bar I visited compares to a mediocre bar in Salt Lake. I’m going to need a boyfriend to keep me sane.

Also, Cincinnati bartenders pour drinks like Vegas bartenders. 90% rum and a splash of Diet Coke coloring.

I need a new standard drink for Cincinnati. I’ve been doing Captain and diet for far too long. Any suggestions on a tasty beverage I should be able to find at most bars? No beer or wine, no shots and no Long Island Iced Tea.

Anyway, since I have the current underemployment status, I’m taking advantage of the extra time to redirect this blog a bit. I’ve been very remiss of late in shying away from the political and queer theory topics in favor of endless personal detail. While I always intended this blog to include a mix of personal updates, political essays and pop culture, it’s become a lot more lopsided over the last few months. I have a good excuse, but I’ve been a bit disappointed with myself.

So, if it seems like I’m posting more often than is usual, that’s why.

Plus, I’d really love to get some new traffic coming my way that isn’t coming off a search for information on whether a certain hunky from the cast of Saved by the Bell and (more recently) A Chorus Line is circumcised or not. At the moment, that accounts for half of all my daily hits.
