Last week I ran across this announcement:
Joe Penno, Cincinnati GLBT Pride Chair 2009 and Community Center President – reminds you the first planning meeting for Pride 2009 in the Greater Cincinnati Area is Tuesday August 26, 2008 at 7 pm.
The location of the meeting is the Community Center at 4119 Hamilton Ave, Northside (Cincinnati), Ohio.
Please make a note of it.
I made a note. I flagged it with a personal flag. Now I keep looking at it.
I swear, I have a sickness. Since 1997, there have been exactly 3 years in which I did not involve myself in my local Pride celebration. For one of those, I was in the middle of Alaska, and the other two were in San Francisco where I worked 24/7 as a professional queer activist.
There’s only one solution. I need a boyfriend who threatens to divorce me if I say “yes” to volunteer projects. Until then, what do I sign up for this time? (Barry – maybe we could chat a bit about the organization before I sign my life away)
Hi Jere – Your pictures of Cincinnati made me jealous – it is my home town but I have not been back in a long time.

It’s good to hear from you Gail. I never, ever expected to be in Cincinnati, but it’s been interesting so far. Today I’m really exploring the University and the neighborhood around it the week before school starts. I imagine that this time next week, it will be a completely different vibe.

I’m the same way sadly. I emailed Val last week and told her that I’d help out next year…again. For the life of me, I can’t quite figure out WHY I like to torture myself like that, but alas, I do.
