VP Debate Countdown
Monday, September 29th, 2008Hey, folks, it’s on!*
* Unless it’s not on because of the economy or something.
As we count down to Thursday’s vice presidential debate in St. Louis, everyone is asking the big questions: will McCain let Palin off her leash? (kinky!) will Joe Biden lose points with vagina-Americans for beatin’ up a lady? will Palin answer any questions about her belief that man and dinosaurs walked side-by-side some 6000 years ago? will Biden be the only one without protections in case of a dirty witchcraft bomb exploding at the debate site?

Frankly, I see one of two stories emerging from Thursday’s debates: 1) Sarah Palin is nonsense-spouting, unprepared, scientifically illiterate, brash, evasive joke of a candidate and every gaffe and mistake and grammatically unstructured sentence will be magnified a thousand times over for the voting public. Or 2) expectations for Sarah Palin are so low that as long as she manages to work a noun, a verb, and a nasty jab at liberals into every 90 second response, the media will make vague, noncommittal analysis like “she might not have impressed the Washington insider, but did she reach the average American? We’ll have to wait until the election to see.”
Where would you bet your money?

I hope he completely decimates her.
