Blind Prophecy

So today I appeared in a music video with TR Knight, Neil Patrick Harris, Cheyenne Jackson, Michael Urie, and hundreds of other awesome peeps. The [Title of Show] team recently invited [tossers] to participate in a video project for the song “9 People’s Favorite Thing.”

I show up at the 4:13 mark (don’t blink).

I also have to say, when I first signed up, the word I was assigned was “Velvet” – a nice dramatic word that held a short pause. But that bitch America Ferrara totally stole my word and I got booted to the super-fast section where I’m on screen for less than a second. If I didn’t love me some Ugly Betty so very much, I’d protest or something. And, for the record, I don’t think America is a bitch.

For those who have worried, sorry I’ve been light on the blogging/twittering this week. This time of year is hard for me because I’ve started to associate October and November with bad things happening to me and my loved ones. It has been worse this year because I can’t even distract myself with big work projects (unlike the last three years), and it’s been depressingly hard to find work in Cincinnati. Law school applications are taking their toll, too. I’ve been isolating myself. I also started smoking again after 5 months cigarette-free (it’s been harder living with two smokers than I anticipated, but I’m not blaming them, I made the decision to pick up that first cigarette).

So basically, I’ve been stressed, depressed and broke. I’m trying to snap out of it. I need to pick up my gym routine and quit the smoking again.

On the good news front, I’ve got a job. It’s not going to be a big money maker, but it’s better than nothing. Beginning this Sunday, I start training to be a Kaplan Test Prep teacher. It’s very part-time and won’t really pick up until after the holidays, but it’s something. Plus, I get to take the SAT again after 15 years.

I’m also going in for a holiday retail interview on Monday. Again, not my first choice of jobs, but it will bring my bank balance up from $3.28. Luckily, I’ve been able to put my student loans into deferment for a few months without jeopardizing my chances at financial aid for law school (any more than the current economy is already making that a pain in my ass I don’t need).

I’ve finished and sent in four law school apps. I’ve got two more ready to go as soon as I have the cash to send them.
