Reposting this bit of interesting news… Written by Michael Aaron, QSaltLake Monday, 10 November 2008 Taking advantage of momentum following the apparent passage of California’s Proposition 8, Equality Utah called a press conference for Monday, Nov. 10 at noon in its offices. “Over this recent election cycle, there has been much emotion around California’s Proposition [...]

Yesterday, over 3,000 Utahns gathered around LDS church headquarters to protest the passage of California’s Prop 8 and the Mormon involvement in the campaign. My friend Jesse took some amazing photos and videos of the event. Troy spoke at the event and has video from KSL that put the attendance at 3,500. Meanwhile, California activists [...]

I’m going to reiterate some points from yesterday that got overshadowed by the emotional baggage vomit. Opponents of marriage equality barely won. I accepted both graciously. If nothing else, the Republican [...]

For the last several months, we have worried about the economy, heard about terrorist connections, obsessed over the meaning of “the mother’s health,” laughed at gaffes and SNL parodies, debated tax policy and health care, and wondered at the fervent and sometimes violent expressions [...]

Not much happened this Halloween. It’s a direct result of being relatively poor and new to the community. We spent Halloween night watching scary movies at home. I didn’t even dress up. Jeanne and Brian threw a Halloween party the day after the holiday, which gave me the opportunity to pull out one of my [...]
