Tax Time
Sunday, February 1st, 2009My 2008 taxes are 2/3 done. I’d be all done, but I have to redo my Ohio taxes by hand after TurboTax and I had a disagreement over the percentage of my annual income that should be subject to Ohio state income tax. As a result, they think I owe Ohio money. I also have to figure out my Cincinnati local taxes, which TurboTax doesn’t support.
This is the last year I’m using TurboTax. I’m out $25 for the state return that I don’t think I can use.
I’m getting a pretty healthy refund from the feds and California. Thanks Republicans, I feel stimulated by my tax relief. Now, I’m going to save that money toward upcoming move and education costs. (Actually, the refund is probably mostly due to the fact that I started the year in a higher tax bracket than I ended it, so too much was withheld in the early part of the year based on the progressive tax system – so I should be thanking the Democrats for recognizing that I’m poor).
