UC Protest Response

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Lordy, lordy, the day I’ve had. I have a blister the size of a dime on the back of my foot because I had to walk 4 miles across town because of an unannounced detour on my crosstown bus and a delay of over an hour between the bus I should have been on and the next.

On the plus side, I hear great things about the protest I missed tonight.

Thanks to Bilerico for letting Barry and I post a guest entry about the UC hate crime.

Barry is tracking the success of the efforts to get some media attention on the crime and has pictures from the event.

While I’m at it, a link to my lengthy essay on why I support hate crime legislation.

I’m going to get some sleep and see if I can’t make it to tomorrow’s Cincinnati Guerrilla Queer Bar’s “Spread the Love” event at Subway Lounge.

  1. FOUR MILES?!?! Wow. The most I’d walk is like… one mile. That’s crazy.

Well, I only knew it was four miles when I got home and looked it up on google maps.

I think my time in San Francisco convinced me that a long walk isn’t impossible. The city is only 7×7 miles, so I always knew that any distance I might have to walk was possible.

Ahh. My town is 1×1, so everything in MY town is in walking distance (not SF… haha)
