Blind Prophecy

So last night I had yet another in a string of crazy and vivid dreams that probably have something to do with unexpressed anxiety about moving to New York in less than 60 days. Only last night’s dream seemed like something I could actually pitch to a movie studio.

Imagine a high school with three award-winning teams: the disciplined and nerdy color guard/flag squad, the slutty and cliquish dance team, and the popular but not-so-bright cheerleaders. The team captains of each squad naturally hate each other. While away at separate training camps, the school district reassigns half the student body to another school and due to budget cuts, tells the school administration to cut two of the three programs. The three captain begin school discovering that they must join forces and work together to create the first mixed movement squad capable of competing in all three sports. Under the frazzled direction of their cynical coach and under pressure from the stressed out principal, they fight to keep their dreams alive. Will the squad fall apart under the strain of competing philosophies and purposes? Or will they discover new techniques, moves and inspiration that will shake up the rigid world of high school performance competition?

It’s totally like Bring It On meets Glee, a little bitchy, a little heartwarming, and filled with those comfortable stock characters Hollywood loves.

Why I’m dreaming about this, I don’t know.
