There's nothing wrong with being a packrat if you aren't moving into a room in New York about 1/3 the size of your current space.

I have a bag of bags too. In fact, I have three. One is a large suitcase (it also holds jackets and winter gear) and the other is a bag that holds all the shopping bags from various stores I use as gift bags.

Thank you for helping me realize my true pack-rat tendencies with your blog posts, Jere.

My current gym is literally right across the street from our house - less than 100 feet. I don't bother to pack a gym bag, I just get dressed and shower at home. Same will probably be true of the fitness center in the dorm at Fordham. But it's nice to know I have a good gym bag when the time comes to start shelling out obscene amounts of money for a membership again.

Are you sad that it's a great gym bag but you don't use it for the gym? Seems like a waste of gym bag potential.

Oh, I don't hang on to those. It sounds like a good idea, but then it gets really messy and smelly. Not to mention the pest problems. No, I just dump the heads in the river with the rest of the bodies.
