Now with 10% less of me
Friday, July 24th, 2009So I just came back from my last trip to the gym across the street. Final weigh-in is a drop from 217 to 191 pounds in 16 weeks.

My main priority has been cardio and aerobic exercise, because I’m more concerned about the health risk associated with carrying belly fat than getting big muscles. I included the occasional weight lifting session, but almost every sticker on my chart represents 30-90 minutes of jogging or stair climbing.
I’ve also been counting my calories and eating smarter (read: cooking at home). If I don’t eat every 2-3 hours, most days I struggle to reach my daily calorie goal.
So, here’s the before and after:

Not exactly shirt-off-at-gay-bar results (and a side/profile shot would be more impressive if I’d thought to do one), but I’m proud of progress.
Next week: jogging in Central Park.


Hurray! Good work. I know about a million people who try to lose weight but don’t succeed cause they lose their drive. Congrats!

I’m very impressed with your color coding system (I use stars, myself). And with the weight loss. Guess there’s less of you to love now….
