1 down, 82 to go

The Legal Process course that lasted throughout orientation week ended with my first law school final yesterday. It’s a pass/fail course and all the 2L and 3L students I’ve talked to said that you almost have to actively work at sucking to fail the exam. I’m going to assume that I picked up that first credit, which means I’m 1/83rd of the way done with school. Yipee!

Picture 146Went out to Bar Nine with a mixed group of Stein Scholars participants, other dorm residents, and random other 1Ls. Definitely an interesting mix of folks. Over the course of the night there was a proposed gang sign for the Steins, an idea for a “WWDTD?” campaign (because he’s a total BAMF), and a great deal of cursing the school’s financial aid office.

My first semester-long course begins Monday afternoon. I’ve got 151 pages to read for next week (that I know about – our Contracts professor has only given us the first day assignment and we meet 3 times over the course of the week). I’ve skimmed my first assignment, but mostly tried to organize myself today.

Still no roommates, but the 2L, 3L, and LL.M. students would be moving in this weekend and my floor is “traditionally” used by the LL.M. program, so we’ll see what happens on Sunday.

Other than that, I’ve listened to the various released songs from Glee waaaay too much today, especially the new studio release of Lea Michele singing “On My Own.” They’ve set an impossibly high bar for themselves already and the show doesn’t begin airing for another few weeks.

  1. Yay you. One down. I couldn’t do it though. I like to read and can read 150 pages in an afternoon, but not the kind of stuff you are talking about. Gak Good luck and hope you get a good roomie.

  2. Congratulations on your first credit. Good luck with the roommate situation. It was probably good to not have one immediately, to give you more time to get settled and better gain your bearings in your new environment.

  3. Sounds like you’re off to a great start : ).

  4. Congrats on your credits! I never pay attention to credits. I have no idea how many I have or how many I need to graduate.
I hope you get some roommates soon! They’re great! I’m already sad that I’m in this room by myself.

Enrico, it’s scary how similar you and I are…seriously, I was the EXACT SAME WAY.

I actually finished my undergrad with 183 credits (only 120 were required) because I liked taking lots of unnecessary electives.
