The traditional gift is candy and iron

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

It’s my blogiversary. After a brief attempt at building my own blog from scratch, I opened a LiveJournal account on May 23, 2004. On September 8, 2007 I bought my own domain name and imported (with relative success) all the content from my LJ. So aside from that platform change, I’ve been blogging for 6 years.

I have written 1,873 posts. Since moving to the new platform, I’ve had 91,008 blog views.

The blog serves many functions in my life. At times, it has been an outlet for my inner editorialist, a method of keeping my family and friends aware of my antics, a way to meet friends and have some fun, and a form of therapy. Since the rise of Facebook and Twitter, I know I don’t spend as much time blogging as I used to, but I’m not planning to fully stop any time soon.

Thanks to all my bloggy friends for making me feel like this has been worthwhile.

Here’s to 6 years of making myself unappointable for high-profile and controversial positions!

You don’t get to call me old and then skip my birthday next Saturday with some lame excuse about having to move when I know you’re playing video games instead of being productive right now. >:-(

Mario Galaxy 2 isn’t just a video game. It’s an interactive visual experience. Genius scientists made it or something like that.

Excuse me jerk, but Saturday is MOVING DAY. I can’t MOVE today. Our landlord is giving us the keys on Saturday, I’m moving, then Sunday night the kid who is taking my room is coming to move in. So yes, I am busy Saturday and have to move and it’s not a lame excuse. And if I weren’t moving, I wouldn’t come anyway if you’re gonna act like a wounded d-bag and be rude when I was being nice to you.

Whoa, calm down. I was just teasing because you were posting on twitter that you were procrastinating by playing video games.
