There’s a guy who got away.

I wish he hadn’t.

It’s complicated and weird, but I wish we had another chance, even though I know we don’t.

And now I’m being weird. this is what Fall does to me.

  1. Stop being sad! Fall is the best month.

You might think that in another life you would make him stay so you wouldn’t have to say he was the one that got away…but don’t let yourself get too wrapped up in misery! Do what I do whenever I am sad: GO DANCING!

  2. Oh no – I’m sorry to hear about that. Sending you a big hug.

  3. Aw, hell. I totally understand what you’re saying. *hug*

  4. Being the “nice” Christian girl I am, my perspective is that even though we pine over what could have been, God knows what would have been. Usually, what “would” have been would have caused us even greater pain and God is trying to protect us from that by letting the other person “get away,” even if it causes us momentary grief. God knows best, my friend.

  5. I agree with Goblinbox and with Michelle and with Josh. I know that feeling all too well; I’m sorry to hear it; *big hugs*; but fall is the best (ahem) season* and the bright blue skies and the brightly-colored leaves and the beautiful crisp air is going to be wonderfully uplifting after this horribly hot and humid summer. We can spend our lives — ruin our lives — living in regret over what “might have been”. Enjoy the fall (at least when it stops raining! :P ) and think about what’s going to be instead :) xo

  6. Ah, a do-over or a re-do, don’t we all wish we had a few of those. Yep. Mojo that you get past your funk (aka weirdness).

  7. Thanks guys. October and November are complicated months for me. There are a lot of anniversaries I’d prefer not to dwell on, but the reminders are constant. Yesterday included one such reminder that left me very blue.

  8. Big comforting HUGS, Jere!

Sorry about whatever happened, and whatever those anniversaries are. Best of luck with these two months.

    HUGS…

  9. Agreed, Fall has a way of messing with emotions, and not always in a good way. Hope you can find some coziness and warmth amid the coming cold days.

  10. Well maybe he’s thinking that you’re the one that got away. It’s never too late.

And don’t be weird, Fall is awesome.
