Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.

Podcast

It’s the week of things that make Jere happy

So, just in the last few days, I’ve discussed my love of Mercedes Lackey and reviewed two books in a row featuring comic book superheroes in novel format.

Which would explain why I’m uber-excited to have discovered:

Secret World Chronicles

The Secret World Chronicle

A weekly novel podcast written by Mercedes Lackey and Steve Libbey.

One of my favorite authors tackles the superhero genre in a format like a serialized audiobook. It’s awesome and it’s free. New episodes every Monday (I’ve downloaded them all via iTunes and have listened to the first few chapters).

It’s like an explosion of awesome for your ears.

In other comic-related news, I wanted to check out Whatever on Castro. I don’t mind shopping at the comic book stores closer to the office, but one is much more focused on toys and the other is part of a chain. Whatever is a lot more like my favorite comic book stores in Salt Lake, plus very gay. I can shop for tacky rainbow shit at the same time I get my weekly X-Men. Plus, the odds that the hottie geek gawking at the latest issue of Green Lantern is a gay hottie geek are significantly higher.

Unfortunately, on my virgin trip today, they had not yet recieved their weekly delivery. Apparently the truck was behind schedule. Rather than hang around until it showed, I went to Al’s Comics to pick up the 3 issues I wanted this week. Still, I can’t fault them for delivery problems, so next week I’ll probably make it my stop on Thursday (no way I’m going near the Castro on Wednesday).

Blind Prophecy #011 - Before the Fireworks

Just another quick episode before watching the Independence Day Fireworks at Dolores Park in San Francisco. On today’s show: job update, SF’s universal health care plan.

Blind Prophect #010 - First Week in San Francisco

This hurried podcast (recorded on the way to the gym, sorry) tells about SF Pride weekend, my first job interview, and other observations on my first week in San Francisco.

Blind Prophecy #009 - On The Road Edition

In this episode, you’ll travel 730 miles with me across Utah, Nevada and California as I move to the gayest city of all, San Francisco.

Blind Prophecy #008 - Pride Wrap-up and Leaving Utah

On today’s episode, I provide a wrap-up of Utah Pride 2006; announce the exciting plans for my move to San Francisco; make some announcements about my family’s growth and my new niece; discuss the defeat of the FMA; and take offense at rumored new legislation from Utah’s openly gay state senator.

Blind Prophecy #007 - *Bonus Episode* The Sounds of Pride

Blind Prophecy #006 - Mormons and Marriage

It’s my birthday weekend and a week until Utah Pride, but we’ve got to talk about the LDS church and its new marching orders to the members about the anti-gay Federal Marriage Amendment. Also, I was in the news this week.

Blind Prophecy #005 - Dreams and More

This week, I’ll tell you about a horrible dream I had about Utah Pride, say TTFN to Ragan Fox, ask why we’re afraid to say any laws in Utah benefit queer people, meditate on the concept of righteous anger/outrage, and I’ll give an introductory explanation of my concept of diety.

Recorded May 21, 2006 at Big Cottonwood Park, Salt Lake City, UT.

Blind Prophecy #004 - Not Much About Mother’s Day

In our Mother’s Day edition, I discuss why I’m a bad, bad son. Also, where have our queer radicals gone? Excitement about Burning Man, and who to choose between a gay-friendly and a lesbian candidate (Christine Johnson vs. Josh Ewing). Recorded in Memory Grove Park, Salt Lake City, UT.

Blind Prophecy #003 - Introducing Myself

In the third podcast, I talk more about myself. How I chose my online/playa/spiritual name, about my family, the history of my relationships. Also, the problem of leadership bashing in the queer community versus the right to question and criticize our leaders.
