Dear Spammer in Jebus,
For the last few weeks I have been overwhelmed with spam that looks innocent on the outside but are the usual Person X from Country Y needs my bank account info to help them give me Money Z crap. What amuses me is that these spam are guaranteed to be deleted with 5 seconds because most of them begins with phrases like:
Dear beloved in Christ
In the name of our Lord
As your friend in Jesus
Unless the email is from my mother, these will be marked “spam” at the first reference to the magic baby of X-mas. Actually, I sometimes slip and do the same thing to those emails from my mother.
I’m at the point of cancelling my yahoo accounts because the spam has become so voluminous–but I’ve had the same yahoo email since I graduated college in 1999 and I’m not sure some people will be able to track me down if I completely cancel them. If yahoo doesn’t clean up its spam service soon, it won’t be worth it to maintain an email service through them.
